Rachel Freeman
Operations Manager, Financial Educator

A Sacramento native, Rachel Freeman studied Jazz Trumpet Performance and Music Education at California State University, Sacramento. Before joining the Smart Investor team, she worked at Apple, Inc., repairing client relationships and iPhones, iPads and Macs at the Genius Bar. Building on 10 years of experience as a music educator, combined with her affinity for technology, Rachel provides innovative client support and financial education solutions to all of our clients, bridging the gap between investors, their dependents and beneficiaries; children, grandchildren and great-­‐grandchildren.

In her free time, you can find Rachel golfing, playing music, and spending time with her wife Torre and their energetic Viszla, Harriet.

Tracy Gunter
Retirement Plan Specialist

Tracy Gunter serves as Smart Investor's lead advisor in providing one-­on-­one retirement plan participant investment advice. In this role, she works with and advises individual plan participants to help them achieve their financial retirement objectives. She is passionate about helping retirement plan participants make their retirement better.

Previously, Tracy worked as a benefit specialist with a major California union client, helping union members with their benefit choices and trouble-­shooting benefit issues. She has a B.A. in business administration from Chico State University, a certificate in personal financial planning from UC Davis Extension, and her California life and health insurance license.

Tracy lives in Auburn, CA. She has two children and enjoys hot yoga, hiking, and keeping in touch with family and friends.

Allan Henriques
Chairman of the Board

Allan Henriques established Smart Investor in June of 2001 and currently serves as Chairman of the Board Officer for the firm.

Allan is a former attorney, a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst®. He works with individual and institutional clients throughout the United States. For over 25 years, Allan has drawn on his legal and financial services experience to help clients meet their financial objectives while legally reducing potential tax liabilities and protecting their estate values. His professional mission is to assist his clients achieve financial security and live a financially balanced life.
In his free time, Allan enjoys traveling and spending time with his five adult children and fourteen grandchildren.

Lesley May
Client Services Associate

With over 10 years of experience in financial services, Lesley’s primary role is to support Smart Investor's advisors in their efforts to provide clients with high quality financial planning and investment advice.

Having raised a family of four daughters, Lesley brings strong organizational and communication skills to the Smart Investor team. Through an exceptional work ethic and level of commitment, she has developed strong relationships with Smart Investor clients and a deep understanding of what's most important to them in the financial planning process.

Lesley has roots in Sacramento and loves to explore the Sierras nearby. She enjoys swimming, biking, hiking and reading. She also enjoys being a Cub Scout leader, despite not having any sons! She and her husband have been blessed once again, and are now happy grandparents.

Aaron Schmoekel, CFP®
Director of Financial Planning

Aaron began his career in 1989 in the family business of personal lines insurance. 10 years later, he decided to take his education and work experience and become a financial planner. Now in his 19th year of planning and investment advice, his role is to help clients see and act on the broad array of financial and non-financial aspects of their lives in a positive way.

Aaron has worked with large and small retirement plans and counseled hundreds of clients over almost two decades. His experience is a valuable resource. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, the main areas of coverage are investment management, risk management, tax planning, estate planning, principals of financial planning, retirement income planning which includes social security and Medicare planning. He has counseled clients on many things. Perhaps the most satisfying is to see people living more productive and satisfying lives before and during retirement.

Aaron loves to play soccer, tend to his massive garden - winter and summer, and hike through the mountains. He and his family love to travel. Having lived in Germany, his goal is to return there often and sample all their chocolate. Aaron and his wife are parents of six children. He has been active with the Boy Scouts of America and is proud to be an eagle scout.

Michael Tudor
President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer

With a career rooted in the Qualified Retirement Plan industry, Michael Tudor, Smart Investor's President and Chief Operating Officer, is a Qualified Plan Financial Consultant (QPFC) through the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA,) as well as an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) through fi360. Michael is also the COO of Sloy, Dahl & Holst, a Portland, Oregon based Registered Investment Advisory firm. Smart Investor and Sloy, Dahl & Holst joined forces in 2017, bringing Michael's leadership and guidance to the Smart Investor team and client base.

Michael is passionate about making sure retirement plan participants and individual investors are meeting their financial goals, and are on track for a successful retirement. He finds that the typical 401(k) program lacks clarity, leaving the average investor feeling confused and disempowered. Michael is committed to ensuring that is not the experience of any participant within the Qualified Plans managed by Smart Investor.

Michael enjoys spending time with family and friends;; especially his wife Brittany and daughter Sienna. He's an avid golfer and a fitness buff, and once upon a time completed four half-­Ironman competitions.

Luann Wallick
Lead Client Services Associate

As Smart Investor's Lead Client Services Associate, Luann Wallick oversees the establishment and maintenance of client and retirement plan accounts. She serves as a liaison with the various custodians used by Smart Investor, and assists the portfolio manager with daily account reconciliation, account downloads and trade processing. On a quarterly basis, Luann is an integral part of the preparation and distribution of the quarterly reports.
Luann brings to Smart Investor 20 years of financial services experience in all areas of administrative and operational responsibilities for both Registered Investment Advisor and brokerage firms.
A resident of Roseville, Luann enjoys spending time with her two sons, Colby and Dylan, and her grandsons Holden and Sawyer.

Paul Wedin
Financial Advisor

“Saving for retirement is one of the most important decisions one will ever make. I learned this lesson at a young age and knew I wanted to help others do the same.” Paul has focused his career on the Qualified Plan industry. In his current role as Sloy, Dahl & Holst’s Director of Participant Education, he works directly with plan participants to help them achieve financial freedom. He knows that it is crucial for individuals to invest properly and he finds great satisfaction in helping others achieve their financial goals. Sloy, Dahl & Holst prides itself on excellent client service, and Paul is committed to making sure that every Qualified Plan managed by Sloy, Dahl & Holst receives the highest standard of care.

Paul earned his BA in Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and his MBA from Ashford University. Born and raised in the Upper Peninsula region of Michigan, Paul has enjoyed all manner of outdoor activities from a young age. He is an avid golfer. When he is not on the course, he enjoys spending his free time backpacking and exploring everything the Northwest has to offer. Shortly after completing his collegiate career, his love for the outdoors brought him to Portland, Oregon; where he lives with his wife Alison and their pup, Mya.
